Supporting Children. Empowering Families.
Occupational Therapy

Working closely with families to set meaningful goals and to create practical strategies that support children’s growth and participation.

How I help children build skills and confidence

Occupational therapy helps children develop the skills they need to participate confidently in everyday life at home, at school or preschool and in the community. I work closely with families to support each child with therapy tailored to their individual needs.

Areas of difficulty

  • Eye-hand and coordination skills – handwriting, cutting, dressing
  • Sensory processing – noticing, responding to, and coping with everyday sensations
  • Emotions and self-regulation – managing feelings and behaviour
  • Attention and focus – staying on task and completing activities
  • School readiness – skills to feel confident at preschool or school
  • Social skills – playing, sharing, and interacting with others
  • Everyday self-care – feeding, dressing, personal hygiene

Services offered

I offer a range of supports to help children succeed:

  • Assessments and reports – understanding your child’s strengths and challenges
  • Individual therapy sessions – one-on-one support tailored to your child
  • School-based support – working with teachers and staff to help your child thrive at school or preschool

Understanding your child’s strengths and needs

I use a variety of assessments to understand your child’s strengths, challenges, and developmental needs. These tools help guide therapy, set meaningful goals, and track progress over time, ensuring support is tailored to your child.

Some of the assessments I use include:

  • M-FUN (Millennium Functional Assessment)
  • Beery VMI (Visual-Motor Integration)
  • Sensory Profile Questionnaire
  • Peabody Developmental Motor Scales
  • BOT-2 (Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency)
  • Movement ABC (Assessment of Motor and Coordination)
  • Vineland Adaptive Behaviour Scales
  • Ages and Stages Questionnaires (ASQ)
  • Non-standardised observational assessments

By using these assessments, I can set personalised, functional goals for therapy and develop plans that build the skills your child needs most. This helps them grow confidence, independence and participation at home, at school or preschool and in everyday life.

Skills that stick in everyday life

Therapy works best when it’s part of everyday moments. I team up with families and schools to help children use new skills confidently at home, in class, and out in the community so learning truly sticks.
